Haha I shocked her!!

My friend's mother likes to pull me aside each time I visit, and whisper gossip in my ears hoping to shock me. She likes gossiping about whose husband has left, whose wife is shacking up with which guy, pregnant unmarried cousins, etc.
So last week when she dragged me aside and starts saying in a hush hush voice "DO YOU KNOW Betty's cousin brother's wife left him for another man? She gave birth to one child, THEY ARE NOT MARRIED, now she is pregnant again....." she paused for effect, with an expression that evoked the "devil" in me. So I replied with a straight face.. "Oh wow she so smart, why wanna marry? Married then more heartache, have to take care of him and his children, now she only has her children to care for, no need to complicate things by marrying the dude"
Her mouth dropped open, and she went "HUH??? WHAT???"
OMG that was priceless....I repeated myself, "Ya lar, marry for what? Obviously he does not want to marry, if he did he would have proposed to her when she was pregnant with the first one."

Sometimes I am so evil....
