Perhaps marriage licenses should have an expiration date just like any other license

Sometimes I feel like people treat divorcees like they are defective individuals. Divorcees, they should not be made to feel guilty just because they choose not to stay in a marriage.

However personally I feel that being divorced in an Asian society is like a double whammy. People view you through a certain judgmental eye. IS something wrong with you, they wonder? How does one cope with the pressure and stress? Should we just crumble, throw in the towel, close one eye and remain in a marriage where both parties are no longer happy?
Asians I find, also love to pretend....we prefer to act like there is nothing wrong rather than admit there are problems. For instance, everyone may know that your husband has a mistress/es but no one feels uncomfortable when you celebrate your 20th, 30th, 50th wedding anniversary. They are more than happy to act like you are the happiest couple in the world although everyone knows it is a lie.
Don't get me wrong I am not advocating divorce. I am merely pleading for people to be more tolerant and less condemning. Let the individual decide if he or she wants to live or stay, afterall they merely doing what is right for them.

does the cake reflect the future of divorces in Asia - that the woman gets to keep the house & pets??

;)

Yes indeed pilocarpine, the most dangerous thing in a relationship is indifference, then all is lost. When the couple no longer care to express themselves anymore..

Well Doc, house and pets...hmm depends on how they both agree I guess. Not every woman want the pets :P

Doc I think the decorator should transfer some pets over to the husband LOL
